C# / .NET Developer - Part-Time

Overview

We are hiring a C# / .NET Developer to join our team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and modernising applications that support business-critical operations.

The position plays a key role in an ongoing transformation initiative to evolve a high-usage platform into a more scalable, modular architecture. You will work closely with both business and technology stakeholders to support this transformation.

About the Role

This is a backend-focused engineering role, where you will primarily work with C# and .NET to design and build scalable services. While there is some full stack exposure, the core responsibility lies in backend development, system design, and performance optimisation. The role requires strong technical depth, the ability to break down complex systems, and confidence in articulating solutions within a collaborative, Agile environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend-centric applications using C# and .NET
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and prototypes
• Contribute to the decomposition of a monolithic system into modular, microservices-based components
• Build and enhance backend services with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Develop and integrate APIs using REST, SOAP, and JSON
• Work with relational databases such as SQL Server and/or Oracle
• Apply design patterns, coding best practices, and clean architecture principles
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and program increment discussions
• Contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions, and problem-solving sessions

Must‑Have Experience

• Deep expertise in C#/.NET with a focus on backend (preferred 10+ years of experience)
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server and/or Oracle)
• Strong experience designing and integrating APIs (REST, SOAP, JSON)
• Hands-on experience with unit testing (e.g. NUnit, xUnit) and writing clean, maintainable code
• Solid understanding of software design principles and design patterns
• Working knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular/jQuery)
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with clear communication
• Experience working in Agile environments (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) with tools like JIRA or Git
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Exposure to microservices architecture and container platforms (e.g. Kubernetes)
