Job Description - CCO Alternative Operations - Part-Time

Principal responsibilities

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for Asset management Alternatives Operations business by ensuring that management have a clear understanding of risks, controls, ownership, and accountability.
  • To conduct a thorough review and alignment of operational processes with HSBC standards, focusing specifically on enhancing efficiency, compliance, and oversight in line with AMSG strategic objective post SPP acquisition
  • Conduct a detailed operational process review within Real Estate Operations team and Investment / Fund Management team.
  • Perform gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current practices and HSBC standard/FIM.
  • Develop and propose remediation strategies to management to address identified gaps.
  • Focus on aligning all operational processes, especially on third-party oversight.
  • When possible, suggest process optimisation and improvement, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Raise gaps, issues, inconsistencies in Helios, assess impact on Risks/Controls effectiveness.
  • Provide detailed and factual operational process review process and challenges to relevant governance forum such as AMSG RMM.
  • Assist AMSG CCO in assessing impacted AMSG Risks and Controls (NFR) following SPP acquisition.
  • Ensure that control activities are consistent with group policies and standards.
  • Oversee the remediation of issues on operational processes, as well as corrective actions following potential incidents.
  • Improvement of operational processes within Alternatives Operations, including the development of departmental procedures, evaluation of controls and adjustment of controls where necessary.
  • Any other general administrative duties as assigned by immediate supervisor(s).

Requirements

  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communications and influencing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse background and of varying seniority
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver against tight deadline
  • Experience in asset management industry, ideally Alternative business with deep understanding of the Asset Management Value chain
  • Deep knowledge of Asset Management FIM and any other relevant HSBC policies and standards
  • Effective use of HSBC Risk Management Framework
  • Strong stakeholder management enabled by collaborative way of working across different teams
