Central Engagement Lead (5-Month Contract) - Part-Time

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Conduct research on sustainability-related themes across various sectors.
• Pen letters to companies for engagement, highlighting where the gaps of information are and setting out expectations.
• Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with company senior management on sustainability topics.
• Consider adequacy or responses and progress by investees on progress towards meeting our expectations. Recommend milestone achievements for portfolio companies.
• Create management reporting and case study examples that showcase engagement outcomes for key clients.
• Represent Eastspring in selected climate-related networks and initiatives; may work directly with the networks or collaborate with other investors on engagements.
• Recommend escalation where engagement is not effective.

EXPERIENCE

• Able to multi-task while keeping on a tight schedule.
• Can communicate engagement with the senior management of the companies effectively, with a track record of being able to secure commitments to improve their ESG processes.
• Able to write well and efficiently.
• Have a broad understanding of the investment markets.
• Education or experience in biodiversity, human rights, climate risk, cybersecurity, diversity and corporate governance would be advantageous.
• Has the maturity and sensitivity to write and communicate well to external senior managements.
• Willing to learn and is passionate about Sustainability.
• Formal Business Chinese is advantageous.
• People management; the role will involve the management to an intern who will be supporting the function.
