Job Description - Credit Officer/Specialist - Part-Time

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

YTL PowerSeraya Pte. Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of YTL Power International Berhad, is in the business of producing, wholesaling, trading and retailing of energy; with a primary focus on electricity. As an established player in Singapore's energy sector, it supplies the country's energy needs through its multi-utilities platform. With a licensed generation capacity of 3,100 MW*, it is one of Singapore's largest electricity generators.

The YTL PowerSeraya Group has three subsidiaries: the retail arm under the Geneco brand provides electricity price plans and energy solutions to homes and businesses, PetroSeraya is the fuel management arm of the Group, and Taser Power which operates Taser Power Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Arrears Management and Policy Compliance

  • Part of a team responsible for arrears management and collateral management in accordance to Credit policies and procedures, monitoring and reporting credit positions to mitigate financial exposure, reduce bad debts and improve cash flow.
  • Include, but not limited to, liaising with customers and various internal stakeholders on collection matters, recurring payment set-up, dispute handling, analysing and reporting arrears data, monitoring security deposit positions, identifying policy exceptions, handling high risk accounts, and managing provision for bad debts.
  • Ensure aging positions and bad debts are kept within acceptable levels.
  • Prepare aging reports and analysis (e.g. customer financial health assessment) that supports management oversight and decision-making.

Digitalisation and Transformation

  • Drive operational excellence through process streamlining and digitalisation:
    • Understand process and system flows, identify gaps and opportunities to support growth towards more efficient and intuitive work flows and data flows, with time efficiency gains as one of the targeted outcomes
    • Document and update business process maps and training materials for knowledge transfer
    • Support system enhancement and automation projects, which may include developing user requirements and participating in user acceptance tests
    • Support the delivery and implementation of new products and BAU enhancements requested by the business (for finance/credit work flows)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Well-organised, analytical and systematic thought process
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable with data management and automation tools, including advanced MS Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, RPA, etc
  • Able to work both independently and in project teams
  • Working experience of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Keen and agile learner who is able to apply new knowledge to improve work output efficiency and quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to effectively develop and maintain healthy working relationships with various stakeholders of the business unit eco system
