Job Description - Intern - Investment Research - Part-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and intellectually curious Investment Analyst to join our growing investment team. This role is open to final-year students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals who are passionate about public markets and eager to develop their investment skills across multiple sectors — including technology, healthcare, consumer, financials, industrials, and energy.

You will work directly with senior portfolio managers and gain hands-on experience across the full investment process, from idea generation through to portfolio monitoring. This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in buy-side investment analysis within a dynamic, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Analysis

  • Assist in fundamental research and financial analysis on publicly listed equities across multiple sectors

  • Support the development and maintenance of financial models (DCF, comparable company analysis, sum-of-the-parts) under senior guidance

  • Synthesise macroeconomic trends, industry developments, and company-specific data to contribute to investment theses

  • Help prepare structured investment memos and materials for the investment committee

Portfolio Monitoring

  • Assist in monitoring portfolio positions, tracking financial performance, news flow, and key risk factors

  • Help maintain and update valuation models with new earnings results and macro developments

  • Flag key catalysts and emerging risks for portfolio holdings

Market Intelligence

  • Track sector-specific developments, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics across covered markets

  • Assist in building and maintaining a pipeline of investment ideas through proprietary research and market analysis

  • Support engagement with company investor relations materials, industry reports, and sell-side research

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, risk, and operations teams on cross-functional tasks

  • Prepare clear and concise summaries, commentary, and presentation materials for internal use

  • Contribute to ESG integration, thematic research initiatives, and ad-hoc special projects

Technology & Systems

  • Assist the technology team with the setup, testing, and maintenance of proprietary tools and trading systems

  • Support the upkeep of internal databases and data infrastructure used for research and investment analysis

  • Help evaluate and implement software tools relevant to valuation, portfolio analytics, and research workflows

Qualifications & Experience

Eligibility

  • Must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or final year of study) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline

  • Progress towards CFA Level I is an advantage but not required

  • Strong academic record with demonstrated interest in financial markets and investing

Experience

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience; internships in equity research, asset management, investment banking, or financial analysis are an advantage

  • Exposure to analysing companies or financial statements in any capacity (academic projects, competitions, personal investing) is welcome

  • No prior buy-side experience required — we will train the right candidate

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid foundational knowledge of financial statements, valuation concepts, and investment analysis

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg or financial databases is a plus

  • Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, or data tools is an advantage but not required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present ideas clearly and concisely

  • Intellectually curious with a genuine passion for markets and investing

  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong ethical standards and sound professional judgement

What We Offer

  • Competitive monthly salary of SGD 2,000 – 5,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

  • Performance-based bonus

  • Structured mentorship from senior investment professionals and portfolio managers

  • Hands-on exposure to a broad investment universe across global markets and multiple sectors

  • A collaborative, high-performance culture that values intellectual rigour and independent thinking

  • Clear pathway for growth and advancement based on performance
