PostgreSQL DBA- Banking (Contract Until Dec 31) - Part-Time

Contract until Dec 31, 2026 - Renewable contract
Good to have banking experience

Responsibilities

• The Database Administrator implements and administers PostgreSQL Databases, installs and maintains database products, including patch application and upgrade of environments.
• Works closely with business, application development teams to solve business problems, development, testing or demonstration of databases.
• Performs many related database functions across one or more engineering teams, including designing, installation and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery design and configuration management

Requirement

• Experience in engineering and operations of PostgreSQL DBs
• Experience with Data Modelling tools
• Experience with UNIX and Linux Administration and scripting
• Installation, Configuration and Performance Tuning
• Expertise in backup/recovery and failover methods and best practices.
• Experience with ESX virtual machines and Kubernetes

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of the Enterprise Architecture standards, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Familiarity with the complexities of working with the data centres-self-starting/self-driven; requires minimal guidance
• Able to work effectively in diverse environments with troubleshooting skills including areas such as storage, OS, patches, ASM and networking
