VP Private Equity - Alternatives - Part-Time

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading global asset management firm, is seeking an Alternatives Analyst to support the growth of its Alternatives business. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced investment professionals, contributing to manager selection, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio research across alternative investments.

The successful candidate will possess strong financial analysis and transaction execution capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in building a long-term career in alternative investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyse prospective alternative investment managers across various strategies.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to identify key investment opportunities and risks.
• Perform investment, operational and ESG due diligence on prospective managers and investment opportunities.
• Review due diligence materials, prepare follow-up information requests, and assess investment merits.
• Prepare investment committee papers, research reports and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
• Support the execution of live transactions, including coordinating with legal counsel, tax advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Review legal documentation and assist with transaction management throughout the investment lifecycle.
• Prepare investment presentations, portfolio updates and market research for internal meetings.
• Work closely with the Alternatives team to support portfolio monitoring and ongoing manager relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in alternative investments, preferably within a fund-of-funds or co-investments environment.
• Prior experience in investment banking or management consulting is advantageous.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and financial analysis skills.
• Experience conducting investment and operational due diligence.
• Strong transaction execution and project management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare concise investment presentations and reports.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• A collaborative team player with high integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
