Associate Executive, Experimental Surgical Lab - Part-Time

This is a full-time position offered on a 2-year employment contract, with the possibility of renewal/extension based on performance and organisational needs.

1) To support, coordinate and develop experimental surgical services and cadaver biomedical research and training activities within KTPH.

2) To support the provision and development of clinical and educational outreach services for the Department of Surgery. The role will include the strategic development and management of facility and equipment resources related to the Experimental Surgical Laboratory, the Surgical Skills Learning Centre as well as general surgery specific simulation and training resources.

 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(A) SPECIFIC

1.              To maintain the Experimental Surgical Laboratory facility and serve as the coordinator / liaison for research and training materials, equipment loan and set-up needs for the usage of the facility.

2.              To safeguard and maintain the infection control standards of the facility, equipment and biomedical materials used.

3.              To assist with HSA process and requirements for cadaver usage including:

i.                Submit annual request for cadaver

ii.               Circulate the availability of cadaver to various departments

iii.             Collection of unclaimed body from HSA Mortuary

iv.             Storage and timely disposal of cadaver

4.              To ensure terminal cleaning of the facility and cleaning of ESL instrument and equipment are conducted after usage.

5.              Ensure effective lab inventory management to prevent waste and oversupply of consumables

6.              To facilitate regular preventive maintenance of equipment in the lab

7.              To manage the facility booking of the lab

(B) GENERAL

1. To coordinate the student attachments and postings to the Department of General Surgery

2. To coordinate GS workshop/Events

3. To carry out any other duties assigned by the Head of Department

JOB REQUIREMENTS

(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

1.              Possess a diploma

2.              Knowledge of using Excel, PowerPoint and Word Processing

3. Must be willing to work on some Saturdays
