Customs Broker/ Permit Declarant - Part-Time

Job Responsibilities

• Perform customs permit declarations in an accurate and timely manner with full compliance
• Follow up on daily shipment holds and find solutions promptly to process customs clearance without delay
• Attend to customs enquiries and client feedback via email, phone, and in-person, maintaining an excellent rapport with clients at all times
• Prepare and provide various reports in a timely manner to meet client timelines
• Keep clients notified of all relevant Customs circulars, notices, and regulatory updates as received
• Classify goods accurately using the correct HS codes across a wide range of cargo types and controlled goods categories
• Process import, export, transshipment, and inward/outward processing permits across diverse trade lanes
• Liaise with Singapore Customs and controlling agencies on permit queries and rejections
• Review internal work processes and implement necessary control measures for continuous improvement
• Support client-facing business development — identifying prospective declaration clients and assisting in onboarding conversations

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on permit declaration experience in Singapore — mandatory
• Possess a Customs Competency Certificate (CCC)
• Proficient in TradeNet and Microsoft Office
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills
• Good work ethic, positive working attitude, and strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise urgent tasks and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
• Able to adapt in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
• Commercial awareness and willingness to support client acquisition is a plus
