The Discipline Support Officer will deploy a firm yet respectful approach to complement and support the school's Student Management (SM) team. The primary goals are to strengthen daily campus discipline, enhance the timeliness of disciplinary follow-ups, and promote a care-based, restorative culture that strengthens Teacher-Student Relationships (TSR).
Serve as a visible adult presence in high-movement areas and conduct systematic patrols during recess, lunch breaks, and lesson transitions.
Maintain a supervisory presence in the canteen and Indoor Sports Hall during daily recess periods.
Support proactive discipline strategies and assist in simple peer reconciliation or mediation where appropriate.
Manage latecomer data and the school's Detention list.
Collect mobile phones and record latecomers arriving after 8:00 AM (Tuesdays to Fridays) or 9:00 AM (Mondays).
Collate and manage all discipline-related documentation, including latecoming records and student statements.
Assist the school team in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews.
Obtain formal student and witness statements when required.
Compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports for submission to Key Personnel.
Supervise structured detention sessions, ensuring attendance and behavior records are maintained.
Establish a structured environment for suspended students to ensure learning continuity during their suspension.
Coordinate and guide students through structured reflection and restorative activities to ensure detention tasks are meaningful and developmental.
Preferred Background: Ideally possesses a uniformed service background (e.g., Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, or equivalent).
Years of Experience: Preferably more than 10 years of experience.
Specialized Experience: Prior involvement in youth-related case investigations, behavioral support, and restorative work is highly advantageous.
Behavioral Intervention: Exceptional skills in conflict management, de-escalation, and calm, proportionate behavioral intervention.
Administrative Skills: Accurate incident observation, documentation, and record management. Proficient in basic data entry (organizing and updating Excel spreadsheets).
Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students while upholding school expectations.
Restorative Approach: Fully aligned with a care-based, restorative approach to discipline and a genuine belief in student growth.
Professional Character: Demonstrates empathy, compassion, professional maturity, reliability, and deep respect for student dignity.
Upholding Standards: Strict commitment to confidentiality, discretion, procedural fairness, and professional conduct in all interactions.
Days: Mondays to Fridays.
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Inclusive of a 1-hour unpaid lunch break; 8 working hours per day).
Exceptions: Service is generally not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public/school holidays.
Note: The school may adjust the work schedule to support special events, with notifications given at least two weeks in advance.
