Job Description & Requirements

1.1 Student Engagement & Mentoring

The Youth Worker is expected to conduct weekly sessions,

small group mentoring, regular check-ins, and goal-setting

activities with identified students to support their personal

development and academic engagement.

1.2 Behavioural & Emotional Support

The Youth Worker is expected to provide support in

emotional regulation, conflict management, and restorative

conversations to help students manage their behaviour and

build healthy relationships.

1.3 School Connectedness

The Youth Worker is expected to actively foster a sense of

belonging, positive student identity, and active participation in

school life among the students they work with.

1.4 Preventive Intervention

The Youth Worker is responsible for the early identification of

concerns and the strengthening of protective factors to

prevent escalation of at-risk behaviours.

Due to the nature of provision of engagement activities for

students, the number of hours of work required per day

stipulated here is an estimate. For instance, during school

examination periods, Youth Workers will report as required by

the school.
