Resident Technical Officer (RTO) - Part-Time

Responsibilities

• Supervise civil and M&E works, including lightning protection system and solar lighting installations.
• Carry out site supervision of structural and civil works in accordance with BCA-approved drawings, specifications and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Inspect construction works, materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with approved plans and project requirements.
• Witness and record required inspections, tests and quality control activities.
• Identify and report defects, deviations or non-compliant works to the Qualified Person, Resident Engineer or relevant project representative.
• Verify that rectification works have been properly completed.
• Prepare, maintain and endorse the required inspection records, supervision reports, checklists and other site documentation within the RTO’s authorised scope.
• Coordinate with the Qualified Person, consultants, contractors and site personnel on inspection and supervision matters.
• Report any observed unsafe work practices or site conditions to the relevant parties.

Requirements

• Must hold valid IES/ACES Civil & Structural Resident Technical Officer accreditation.
• Must be currently listed on the IES/ACES C&S RE/RTO Registry and remain accredited throughout the contract period.
• Able to be formally appointed as the project’s Resident Technical Officer and sign the required inspection, supervision and site documentation within the RTO’s authorised scope.
• Relevant experience supervising civil, structural or building works in Singapore.
• Familiar with BCA requirements, approved drawings, inspection procedures and site documentation.
• Must be available to start immediately and commit to the full 2-3 months contract period.
