Site Inspections & Hazard Control: Conduct daily safety inspections, identify unsafe acts or conditions, and take corrective actions to mitigate hazards.
Regulatory Enforcement: Monitor compliance with safety regulations (e.g., MOM's WSH Act) and enforce site safety rules, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Risk Assessment: Assist in preparing, reviewing, and implementing Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP), especially for high-risk activities like working at heights or lifting operations.
Training & Communication: Conduct safety inductions for new workers, organize daily toolbox meetings, and lead safety briefings to promote awareness.
Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, then prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate safety records, including inspection reports, training logs, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation.
Permit Coordination: Administer and monitor the Permit-to-Work system to ensure it is properly approved and conditions are met during high-risk work.
Education & Certifications:
Possession of WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) or a Safety Coordinator Certificate recognized in Singapore.
A Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field is often preferred.
Additional certifications like Work at Height (WAH) for Supervisors, Lifting Supervisors Safety Course, and Occupational First Aid are advantageous.
Experience: Typically requires 1 to 5 years of relevant working experience in building construction or a similar environment
Knowledge: Strong understanding of local Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, MOM guidelines, and construction safety
Skills: Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills to coordinate with workers, supervisors, and management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is often required.
