Track Work Engineer - Part-Time

Job description

• Managing parts of construction projects

• Supervising and overseeing Track Work (incl. Sub base Ballast, Sub base Concrete Slab, Scupper Drain along track, Cable Duct, Cable Bridge & Pulling Chamber and SWC Equipment Foundation (Stump & Foundation))

• Undertaking surveys and coordination with SWC and Internal Design Team

• Setting out sites

• Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly

• Supervising contracted staffs

• Ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales

• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager

• Providing technical advice and solving problems on site

• Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork

• Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials

• Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.

Job Requirements:

Degree in Civil Engineering or the relevant degree

At least five (5) years experience in working Track Work (incl. Sub base Ballast, Sub base Concrete Slab, Scupper Drain along track, Cable Duct, Cable Bridge & Pulling Chamber and SWC Equipment Foundation (Stump & Foundation)).
