Shop Assistant/Cashier - Part-Time

Job Summary

Handle customer purchases and transactions efficiently while maintaining shop order and stock. Provide excellent service with integrity and teamwork in a retail environment requiring tobacco handling and ladder use.

Responsibilities

• Operate Point of Sales machines to process customer purchases accurately
• Pack customer items carefully and complete transactions using cash or Nets machines
• Perform end-of-day cash and transaction settlement to ensure accurate records
• Replenish stock shelves and maintain shop cleanliness and tidiness throughout shifts
• Climb ladders safely to stack goods and retrieve items as needed
• Handle tobacco products responsibly following store policies
• Communicate effectively in basic English to assist customers and team members

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Ability to speak any Chinese dialect or Mandarin to assist elderly customers

Other Information

• Full-time shifts: 6 days per week, 12pm to 9pm
• Part-time shifts: 3pm to 9pm, minimum 5 or 6 days per week
• Flexible work arrangements available
• Weekend and public holiday work required
