Adjunct Lecturers

Undergraduate Level teaching – Animation & Games Arts, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration & Design, Photography & Digital Imaging, Visual Art and Visual Practice, and Design

Salary Range: The teaching fee will be determined based on the candidate's level of academic qualification and teaching experience.

Capital College of the Arts, Management, and Technology (CCAMT) is currently seeking experienced and committed educators to join the Faculty of Contemporary Art and Design. The Faculty is looking for individuals who possess a strong background in various disciplines and fields of Contemporary Art, Visual Art, Fine Art or Design to teach undergraduate level courses.

Lecturers will have the responsibilities of delivering curriculum in the areas of Animation & Games Arts, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration & Design, and Photography & Digital Imaging, and related fields.

CCAMT is building a pool of academic team to deliver high-quality instruction in the key areas listed below, ensuring that the program's learning objectives are met and students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the fields of Contemporary Art, Visual Art, Fine Art and Design.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other faculty members, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in reflective practice to continuously enhance their teaching effectiveness.

  • Digital Illustration

  • Packaging Design

Photography & Digital Imaging:

  • Digital Photography

  • Analog Photography

  • Studio Lighting

  • Photojournalism

  • Photo Editing and Retouching

  • Video Production

This is a part-time position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and faculty needs. Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating and delivering instruction in identified key concepts

  • Designing and implementing instructional materials, activities, and assessments aligned with identified key concepts

  • Providing guidance and support to students in conducting independent research, and developing advanced professional practice in subject-related disciplines

  • Encouraging self-reflection and critical analysis of public relations practices, marketing communications strategies, ethical implications, and societal impacts in the field of Contemporary Art, Visual Art, Fine Art or Design

  • Facilitating the development of leadership skills and aiding students in exploring their identities as leaders within the realm of Contemporary Art, Visual Art, Fine Art or Design contexts

  • Exploring issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in Contemporary Art, Visual Art, Fine Art or Design contexts

  • Evaluating and assessing student performance

  • Collaborating with colleagues, faculty, and stakeholders to enhance the quality of education and training

  • Engaging in continuous professional development to stay current with research, best practices, and trends in Contemporary Art, Visual Art, Fine Art or Design

  • Participating in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts

  • Providing mentorship and guidance to promote reflective practice and support continuous professional growth

  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching, mentoring, and leadership, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning and inclusion in all aspects of teaching, mentoring, and leadership, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

  • Perform administrative tasks related to teaching, mentoring, and program coordination, such as grading, record-keeping, and attendance tracking, in a timely and efficient manner, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant education and experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree to teach undergraduate levels programs in visual arts, fine arts, design or a related field, with practical experience in the field of Contemporary Art, Visual Art, Fine Art or Design, or related industries.

  • Teaching experience: The candidate should have prior experience in teaching at the undergraduate level, with a demonstrated ability to engage students and deliver course materials that align with the program's learning objectives.

  • Subject matter expertise: The candidate should have a strong understanding of visual art theory and practice, contemporary art, design principles, critical perspectives, and research methods, with the ability to integrate real-world examples and case studies into the curriculum.

  • Industry/professional experience: The candidate should possess relevant professional industry experience in the fields of Contemporary Art, Design, Fine Art, or Visual Art.

  • Excellent communication skills: The candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively articulate complex concepts and facilitate class discussions.

  • Interdisciplinary approach: The candidate should have the ability to integrate interdisciplinary perspectives, theories, and research into the curriculum, and foster critical thinking and analysis among students.

  • Professional network: The candidate should have a strong professional network in the field of Contemporary Art, Visual Art, Fine Art, Design or related industries, with the ability to bring in guest speakers, industry experts, and practitioners for holistic learning experiences.

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion: The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching, mentoring, and leadership, and creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Strong understanding of pedagogy and andragogy, and ability to apply them effectively in instructional design and delivery.

  • Demonstrated skill in facilitating discussion and collaboration among students, promoting engagement and interaction in the classroom.

  • Ability to provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, supporting their learning and growth.

  • Experience in guiding students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, applying pedagogical strategies that encourage higher-order thinking.

  • Proficiency in utilizing various teaching methods, such as case studies, simulations, and real-world applications of technologies, to enhance student learning experiences.

  • Commitment to promoting lifelong learning, and ability to inspire and motivate students to engage in continuous learning and professional development.
