The Role

As an English Specialist Teacher, you will teach engaging lessons in Creative Writing, Composition, Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary and Oral Communication to primary school students.

Our lessons are carefully structured, and our teaching resources are fully developed, allowing you to focus on delivering meaningful lessons instead of creating materials from scratch. Beyond the classroom, you will guide students in their learning journey and communicate regularly with parents about their progress.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Preference will be given to candidates with qualifications in English, Creative Writing, English Literature, Linguistics, Education, or related disciplines.
• Graduate from a local university (NUS, NTU, SMU)
• An MOE teaching experience will be an added advantage
• A minimum of 1 year teaching experience (teaching and marking demo is required)
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Passion for teaching and working with children
• Available to teach on 4 week days and 1 weekend day.
• Familiar with the Singapore Primary/Secondary School English syllabus and its challenges
• Available full-time
  

Main Information about the Role

• Attractive compensation and benefits package ($3800-$4200 gross monthly salary), with opportunities to be rewarded with performance incentives and bonuses)
• Training will be given on an ongoing basis, helping to continuously build your skills in areas such as mentoring, communicating feedback and problem solving
• You will gain an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of MOE exams, marking & grading expectations and how to teach students to perform in class and in school
• You will learn how to analyse each student and ways to handle a classroom to ensure effective delivery to yield better results
• 5-day work week, with shifts ending at 9 pm (for secondary school lessons) or 730 pm (for primary school lessons). One weekend day.
• Opportunities to be exposed to other key functions such as developing new materials and planning new curriculum are available.
• At least 10 classes a week (1.5-2 hours per class)
• Must be able to work at Bukit Timah Central and Kovan (where necessary). 1 location per day.
• 1-year contract position with possibility of extension/conversion to permanent
• Commit to work till end of 2027*
