The Services required are set out as follows:
ICT Planning and Managing ICT Projects in Schools
- Work with the Head of Department – Information and Communication Technology (HOD/ICT) to assess the ICT needs of the school and propose solutions that meet the requirements of the schools including technical specifications and market pricing of these solutions.
- Scan the market for technology trends and new technology tools that support Teaching and Learning and, educate and update school staff.
- Advise and assist in sourcing and procuring ICT related goods (hardware & software) & services.
- Assist HOD ICT in managing school-initiated projects and coordinating HQ project roll-outs for schools while ensuring that MOE policies, guidelines and standards are adhered to.
- Provide project updates to the HOD/ICT and prepare any relevant documentations and guidelines pertaining to the project.
Procurement of ICT Equipment & Services
- Assist the HOD/ICT in the preparation of procurement outside GeBIZ in the following areas (but not limited to):
· Market research;
· Assist in the preparation of specifications to be put up in GeBIZ;
· Keep track of timeline and procedures to be taken;
· File and keep records of the procurement
· Keep track of the delivery of contract obligations by awarded suppliers and report to school officer-in-charge of any discrepancies.
- Assist HOD/ICT in filing of delivery orders, invoices and cataloguing of all ICT/AVA resources.
ICT/AV support for school
- Provide AV support for the school
- Provide support in the use of the school’s Media Production Studio.
- Teach and monitor students on the use of AV equipment.
- Train class ICT representatives (2 per class) on the use of ICT/AV equipment (twice a year).
- Support teachers and students in the use of ICT/AV equipment.
- Support ICT trainer in the conduct of basic ICT training for students in ICT Enrichment programme. (Not more than 3 hours per class)
ICT Resources
- Assist the HOD ICT in:
- managing the school’s ICT resources such as the deployment, of ICT equipment, and the managing and loaning of ICT equipment.
- conducting regular stock-checking, verification of assets, condemnation and replacement of ICT/AV equipment.
- keeping and updating stock-books, machine history cards and inventories for AV hardware and stock-book for ICT/AV consumables.
- maintaining records and monitoring the utilization of ICT facilities.
- cataloguing and keeping inventory of all application software materials in the school including CD key and serial numbers, type of licenses.
- Overall in charge of coordinating audio-visual duties and resources pertaining to the school’s daily operations and major school events.
- Provide support and training for staff and students in the use of broadcast equipment.
Data Management
o Maintain network folders.
o Extraction and presentation of school and student-related data for school report and analysis purposes.
PC Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Assist Technology Assistant (TA) in maintaining all PCs and iMacs in working condition in the school.
- Provide support to staff and students in hardware and software troubleshooting.
ICT Briefings
- Work with HOD/ICT to organize and conduct ICT awareness and usage briefings for school staff on ICT implementations.
Working with other staff and students
- Coordinate and work with the Technology Assistant (TA) and other ICT support staff.
- Assist TA in maintaining all PCs and iMacs in working condition in the school.
- Provide support to staff and students in hardware and software troubleshooting.
Other Tasks
- Attend ICT committee meetings.
Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Principal, Vice-principal, ICT HOD, Operation and Admin Managers
Qualification & Skills:
- A local ITE in the ICT field of study.
- Good knowledge and skills in operating ICT/AV equipment.
- Good knowledge in procurement procedures for government agencies is preferred.
- Good knowledge of IT project management and implementation.
- Good knowledge and skills in inventory management.
- At least 1 year of experience working in schools as ICT Executive is preferred.
Contract Period: From 1 Jan 2021 to 31 Dec 2021.
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours, inclusive of ½ hr lunch break:
· Working Hours (Term time):
Mon-Thu: 7.30am – 4.30pm
Fri: 7.30am – 4.00pm
· Working Hours (School holidays):
Mon-Thu: 8.30am – 5.30pm
Fri: 8.30am – 5.00pm
· Service is not required on Sundays and gazetted public holidays
· Service may be required on some Saturdays:
o Not more than of one Saturday per term
o Hours committed will be compensated as time-off for the same number of hours
