Music Teacher - Piano, Music Explorer (P/T) - Part-Time

Hi Candidates!

We are looking for a warm and caring Music Teacher specializing in Piano to conduct individual lessons, group lessons, and music explorer classes and assist with piano accompaniment at Joy Music Studio (Marine Parade)

We're looking for a music teacher with:

• Degree or Diploma in Classical Piano, with minimum Grade 6 Music Theory certificate.
• Comfortable teaching students up to Grade 8 Practical and Grade 5 Music Theory.
• Able to confidently assist with accompaniment sessions for our vocals and violin students.
• Experience with Pop Piano would be a bonus.
• 1 year+ of teaching experience with a fun, creative approach for kids and teens
• Confidently and proactively guides parents about student progress and goals
• Understands ABRSM, RockSchool, and Trinity Curriculums
• Excited to develop and organize programs, concerts, workshops, and camps
• Commit to at least 4 teaching days per week with at least 1 weekend day. Teaching hours are Sat/Sun 9am-6pm and Weekdays 3-8pm.

What does a music teacher do at Joy Music Studio?:

Teaches Music (Individual and Group Classes)

• Designs lesson plans aligned with student goals and exam syllabi
• Prepares students for exams, performances, and competitions
• Communicates progress to parents (verbal, written, video)
• Use creative, personalized teaching methods to engage students

Helps Create and Grow Our Programs

• Foster a positive, student-centered learning environment
• Improves our instrument dept through curriculum development and best practices
• Works collaboratively to develop programs, concerts, camps, and workshops

Teamwork

• Contributes ideas, helps solve problems, and works with others to make it happen
• Participates in staff meetings and training sessions
• Supports/mentors colleagues and assist with new teacher onboarding
• Assists with marketing efforts and events
• Pitches in with extra effort and a smile (even if it is sometimes outside working hours)
• Helps with piano accompaniment for students
