Part-Time Tutor

Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and committed Part-Time Tutor to conduct lessons for primary and secondary school students.

The tutor must be able to teach English, Mathematics and Science across both primary and secondary levels. Lessons may be conducted individually or in small groups, depending on class arrangements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Plan and conduct structured lessons based on the Singapore MOE syllabus.

• Explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to suit different learning abilities.

• Prepare students for school examinations, weighted assessments and national examinations where applicable.

• Review students’ work, identify learning gaps and provide targeted guidance.

• Assign and mark worksheets, homework and practice papers.

• Monitor students’ progress and provide regular feedback to the management team and parents when required.

• Maintain a positive, engaging and disciplined learning environment.

• Use lesson materials and teaching resources provided by the centre.

• Attend training, briefings or discussions when required.

• Commit to the agreed teaching schedule and provide sufficient notice for any changes.

Job Requirements

• Able to teach English, Mathematics and Science at both primary and secondary school levels.

• Familiar with the current Singapore MOE syllabus and examination requirements.

• Strong understanding of the subjects taught and able to explain concepts clearly.

• Good written and spoken English.

• Patient, responsible, punctual and professional.

• Able to manage students with different learning abilities and behavioural needs.

• Comfortable conducting individual and small-group lessons.

• Able to provide constructive feedback and communicate professionally with parents and the management team.

• Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.

• Undergraduates, graduates, current teachers and former teachers are welcome to apply.

• Relevant academic qualifications with good results in the subjects taught are preferred.

• Able to commit for at least six months.

• Availability on weekday evenings and/or weekends is preferred.
