Part-time Youth Worker (6 Months)

Job Summary

Provide mentorship and support to students at risk, including academic, emotional, and behavioural guidance through regular engagement, home visits, and after-school programmes.

Monitor student progress, work closely with school staff, and recommend interventions to support students’ development and school re-engagement.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with students to support their overall development
• Provide academic and socio-emotional support during school hours when students need help catching up or reintegrating
• Conduct home visits and escort students to school if they are absent for more than 3 days without valid reasons
• Plan and run after-school programmes (e.g. academic support, mentoring, engagement activities) aligned with student needs
• Monitor and identify students’ needs, and report to school leaders for further support
• Provide regular feedback on student progress and programme effectiveness
• Review programmes each term and suggest improvements
• Work closely with school staff and maintain professionalism in all interactions

Requirements

• At least 2 years working with children & youth in school settings

Other Infromation

• Location: Tanglin Halt
• Working Schedule: Tuesday (8am - 5pm) Wednesday (8am - 2.30pm)
• Service not required during School Holiday periods
• Salary: $1,400 - $1,800
