Research Fellow - Part-Time

CDAC is seeking a part-time Research Fellow to support the implementation of an Impact Measurement (IM) Pilot for its Primary Tuition Programme. The pilot aims to strengthen how programme outcomes are measured and improve the collection, analysis and use of data to enhance students' learning experience and programme effectiveness.

The Research Fellow will serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance to the CDAC project team and Research Assistants on research design, data collection, qualitative protocols, analysis and quality assurance. Working closely with the project team, the Research Fellow will adopt a coach-the-team approach, building research capability while ensuring the pilot is implemented consistently and effectively. This is primarily an advisory role and does not require regular on-site fieldwork.

Employment Details

• Engagement Period: August to November 2026
• Working Hours: Up to 80 hours over the project period, depending on project needs and agreed deliverables.
• Remuneration: S$80–S$100 per hour, depending on qualifications and relevant experience, capped at a maximum of S$8,000 for the project period.
• Note: Actual hours worked may vary depending on project requirements and mutually agreed deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on the overall research methodology, including sampling, data collection design and implementation considerations.
• Review and provide feedback on student pre- and post-survey instruments, tutor pulse surveys and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) guides.
• Guide the project team and Research Assistants on consistent and high-quality data collection practices across CDAC centres.
• Support the development of FGD protocols, facilitation guides and documentation templates.
• Advise on approaches for analysing quantitative and qualitative data.
• Provide quality assurance for data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting.
• Review emerging findings and support the development of key insights and recommendations.
• Contribute to the learning review by translating research findings into practical recommendations for programme improvement.
• Mentor and provide research guidance to the CDAC project team throughout the pilot.

Requirements

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Statistics, Evaluation or a related discipline.
• Experience in education research, programme evaluation, social impact measurement or applied research.
• Strong knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies, including surveys, interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
• Experience in research design, data analysis and report writing.
• Able to communicate research concepts clearly and effectively to practitioners and non-research stakeholders.
• Comfortable working with education or community-based programmes.
• Prior experience mentoring or guiding research teams will be an advantage.
