Secondary Years Humanities Teacher (2-Month Contract) - Part-Time

XCL World Academy is seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate for a Secondary Years Humanities Teacher. This is a paternity cover position commencing from 19 Oct 2026 and ends on 11 Dec 2026.

Preference will be given to teachers who have relevant subject-specific DP experience, as well as a clear track record of superior teaching in international school settings. For candidates with proven leadership experience, the position may be offered with additional responsibility as Head of Individuals & Societies.

Main Responsibilities
Teachers should be willing to contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the department and broader SY Team.
Demonstrates to professional ethics, international mindedness and the school’s mission.
Adheres cooperatively to XCL policies and regulations, including duties, deadlines, programme requirements (IB).
Seeks clarification in case of lack of clarity to fully meet all expectations of the role and sets and maintains high standards of professionalism.
Contributes to the development of curriculum and assessment documentations.
Show exemplary attendance to work eg. recognizes the importance and provides support for XCL extended school day activities.

Person Specifications
Undergraduate degree from a recognized university or college.
Teaching experience and professional certification specific to applied position.
Minimum of two years’ experience as a class teacher, preferably in an international K-12 school.
Preferred minimum 2 years of relevant IB programme experience.
Possess skills and attitudes aligned to the purpose, mission and vision of XCL World Academy.
Need clear eagerness, resilience and understanding to engage and collaborate in the development of a highly aspirational school.
Have demonstrated commitment and education and learning beyond the classroom.
Be flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
Salary commensurate with experience (International School) and according to the school's teaching scale.
