Teaching Centre Teaching Assistant- $13/Hour- Monthly Pay - Part-Time

Location- Napier Road, Toa Payoh

Working hour & days- As assignment by Engagement Manager

Role purpose
To provide ongoing support to staff and customers both inside and outside the classroom and contribute towards the smooth running of the  Learner Programmes in Singapore.

Main accountabilities
Floor Walking
•    Monitor students in the center before, after and between classes
•    Ensure children do not enter restricted areas and do not cause disturbances on the premises
•    Supervise children who need to leave the classroom
•    Direct parents and students to classes and the customer service team for trial classes
•    Fire Marshall and First Aider in case of emergencies (training to be provided).
Resources
•    Support the team to prepare and maintain materials
•    Help create displays of student work
•    Print, cut and laminate materials.
Customer Management
•    Give basic information to parents and students about the programme and refer customers to the Customer Management team.

Teaching Assistant
•    Communicate with and assist classroom teachers
•    Help children to settle into the class environment and routines
•    Manage student book borrowing
•    Guide students when completing written work
•    Encourage participation.

Other possible responsibilities
•    Work on ad-hoc projects as agreed with the academic management team
•    Help on Open House days and with Parent-Teacher Meetings.

Role specific knowledge and experience
Minimum/essential:
Working with children:
•    An understanding of how to promote/ensure the safety and well-being of children.
•    Communicating and engaging clearly with colleagues and customers
Desirable:
•    Teacher support at preschool and/or primary school level
•    Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
