Weekend Educator / Relief Teacher, Preschool To Primary 3 - Part-Time

We are looking for a Weekend Educator / Relief Teacher to support preschool to Primary 3 students in a structured education centre.

This role covers preschool phonics, preschool relief math, and Primary level relief English during weekend classes.

The successful candidate will also support a permanent Saturday phonics class for preschool children.

Prior preschool teaching experience is not required. Training will be provided.

This role is suitable for someone with strong English, clear classroom communication, and genuine comfort working with young children.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and support classes for preschool to Primary 3 students

• Conduct preschool phonics lessons for young children

• Support preschool relief math lessons when required

• Support Primary level relief English lessons when required

• Teach a permanent Saturday phonics class from 11:00am to 12:15pm

• Follow the centre’s teaching structure and lesson flow

• Support young children in a patient, clear, and structured manner

• Participate in observation, training, co-teaching, and gradual class deployment

• Maintain a professional and reliable weekend teaching commitment

Requirements

• Must have O Level English B3 for English subject

• Able to commit to both Saturday and Sunday

• Comfortable teaching preschool children

• Comfortable teaching up to Primary 3 level

• Comfortable teaching phonics, basic preschool math, and Primary English

• Good spoken and written English

• Patient, reliable, teachable, and comfortable following lesson structure

• Able to work well with young children in a classroom setting

• Open to training, observation, co-teaching, probation, and gradual deployment

• Prior preschool teaching experience is not required

• Candidates currently studying Early Childhood, preschool teachers, former preschool teachers, tutors, enrichment educators, and candidates with child related teaching exposure are welcome to apply

Working Days and Hours

• Saturday: 8:15am to 1:00pm

• Sunday: 8:15am to 1:00pm

Candidates must be able to commit to both Saturday and Sunday.

Permanent Saturday Phonics Class

• Timing: 11:00am to 12:15pm

• Duration: 75 minutes

• Level: Preschool, around 3 to 5 years old depending on demand

Training and Pay Structure

Observation, training, or co-teaching as Relief Teacher:

• $15 per hour

Probation period as Relief Teacher:

• First 5 classes

• $25 per class

Relief Teacher duties:

• $40 per class

Adjunct teaching of permanent phonics class:

• $45 per class

• Increase to $50 per class after 6 months, based on performance

Actual monthly earnings will depend on assigned classes, training hours, and relief teaching duties.

Important Notes

The successful candidate will not be placed straight into class without training.

Training may include observation, co-teaching, teaching selected portions of a lesson, and gradual progression into fuller class responsibility.

This is a fixed weekend commitment role.

This role is not suitable for candidates looking for casual ad hoc work only.
