Job Description - Aerospace Technician (All Trades) - Part-Time

Job Summary

You will perform comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft engines, airframes, avionics, and related components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards to support operational readiness and flight safety.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and assemble aircraft engines adhering to technical and quality specifications to ensure optimal performance
  • Overhaul engines and repair aircraft engine parts including intake, compressor, combustion, and exhaust sections to maintain airworthiness
  • Repair high pressure compressor blades (HPC Blade) and land marine blades through welding and profiling to restore component integrity
  • Remove and replace air filters and engine pipelines to maintain engine efficiency and safety
  • Conduct non-destructive testing on engine parts to detect defects and prevent failures
  • Perform engine propeller changes and engine run-ups following maintenance manuals to verify operational readiness
  • Conduct daily pre-flight inspections and servicing to ensure aircraft readiness prior to departure
  • Execute daily and weekly transit checks, including repair and rectification of defects to maintain aircraft safety and reliability
  • Review and rectify minor defects recorded in cabin and aircraft maintenance logbooks, maintaining accurate records of all actions taken
  • Maintain and repair cabin equipment, emergency and demo equipment, and aircraft seats to ensure passenger comfort and safety
  • Perform maintenance and functional checks on cabin components such as wheel assemblies, tyres, brake assemblies, seats, bins, panels, carpets, and windows following company procedures and manufacturer specifications
  • Conduct base maintenance activities including repair, overhaul, testing, and servicing of aircraft models such as B747, B737, B777, A330, A340, A319/320 in compliance with airline safety and quality procedures
  • Perform sheet metal structure repairs and alterations according to structure repair manuals, component maintenance manuals, and engineering authorizations to restore aircraft structural integrity
  • Replace or repair aircraft skins and structural components using technical orders, blueprints, drawings, and appropriate tools
  • Maintain and service avionics systems, including component changes, troubleshooting, and rectification to ensure system functionality and compliance with FAA and manufacturer standards
  • Assist in designing, purchasing, testing, and calibrating avionics systems to support aircraft communication and control functions
  • Inspect and test electrical and computer systems such as radar, radio communications, and flight controls to verify operational status
  • Remove, assemble, and install electrical components and maintain detailed records of repair work on aircraft systems including batteries, generators, and control units
  • Prepare, paint, and detail aircraft following company quality standards and aviation regulatory requirements to preserve aircraft appearance and protection
  • Operate tools and equipment such as sanders, hydraulic lifts, and paint sprayers safely and maintain shop equipment and tools
  • Apply sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals using protective equipment to ensure safety and compliance
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions proactively to protect personnel and property
  • Assist with aircraft movement within hangars to support maintenance operations

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum diploma in engineering, preferably in Aerospace or relevant certificates
  • At least 3 years of full-fledged technician experience in the aviation industry, excluding on-the-job training, helper, and assistant mechanic roles
  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance training on aircraft systems
  • Exposure to GE CFM Engines, Rolls Royce Trent, Engine Alliance GP, and PW Engines
  • Proficiency in English language (reading, writing, speaking) necessary for effective communication and documentation in aviation maintenance
  • Experience with commercial aircraft from Boeing and Airbus, including wide and narrow-bodied airframes
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
