Data Engineer Intern - Part-Time

About Us

Bright Point Capital Pte Ltd is a Registered Fund Management Company in Singapore regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). We are currently looking to expand our team for one of our funds, Theme International Trading. Theme International Trading is a Singapore collective investment fund that invests and trades in listed financial instruments to achieve high risk-adjusted returns.

Job Summary
We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern to support our data-related tasks, including data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and basic reporting. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of SQL, Python, and general technical concepts. This role is suitable for someone who is willing to learn, detail-oriented, and interested in working with data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in extracting, cleaning, and organizing data from different sources.
• Write and maintain basic SQL queries for data retrieval and analysis.
• Support data transformation and validation tasks.
• Help prepare simple reports, dashboards, or data summaries.
• Work with the team to understand data requirements and business needs.
• Assist in maintaining data quality and identifying data issues.
• Support basic automation tasks using Python where applicable.
• Document data processes, queries, and workflows clearly.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, including SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY, and basic aggregation.
• Basic Python knowledge is preferred, such as working with files, data structures, or simple scripts.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to learn new tools and technologies.
• Able to communicate clearly and work with team members.
• Familiarity with Excel, databases, or BI tools is a plus.

Niceto Have

• Experience with data cleaning or data analysis projects.
• Basic understanding of ETL concepts.
• Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Pandas, or cloud databases.
• Interest in data engineering, automation, or business intelligence.
