Role Purpose
The Growth / Market Development Executive is a client-facing role within Cybersecurity, supporting the expansion of the firm's cybersecurity products and platforms across new markets and sectors. This role is designed for a technically grounded cybersecurity professional who is ready to apply their domain expertise in a commercial and advisory context — bridging the gap between deep technical knowledge and real-world market opportunities.
Working closely with senior advisors, sales teams, product managers, and regional leads, you will support business development, market intelligence, and solution engagement activities. Your cybersecurity background is a core asset: it enables you to speak credibly with technical stakeholders, validate solution fit, and translate complex cyber challenges into compelling narratives for clients and partners.
This is an ideal transition role for a cybersecurity professional who is intellectually curious about markets, strategy, and commercial outcomes — and who wants to grow into a senior advisory or market development leader over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Advisory Support & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support senior advisors and business development leads in client-facing engagements with government agencies, regulators, critical infrastructure operators, and enterprises.
- Develop your advisory presence by contributing to discussions on cybersecurity challenges, digital risk, and resilience strategies across targeted sectors.
- Prepare briefing materials, technical narratives, and engagement content for executive-level and technical stakeholder meetings.
- Translate your hands-on understanding of the cybersecurity threat landscape, architectures, and tooling into contextually relevant insights for clients and prospects.
Solution Development & Technical Storytelling
- Leverage your technical background to support the development of end-to-end cybersecurity solution proposals that integrate cybersecurity products and advisory services.
- Help translate complex technical concepts — architectures, threat models, controls — into business, policy, and risk-based language suited to non-technical decision-makers.
- Contribute to the creation of value narratives, use cases, and outcome-based propositions that connect cybersecurity capabilities to client and sector priorities.
- Assist in technical response development for RFPs, proposals, and client-facing presentations.
Business Development Support
- Identify emerging opportunities and whitespace in targeted markets and sectors, and surface them to senior team members.
- Support account strategies, partnership discussions, and go-to-market activities for priority geographies.
- Assist in qualifying opportunities, preparing solution collateral, and supporting complex, multi-stakeholder engagements alongside the sales and regional teams.
- Help build and maintain relationships with technical counterparts, procurement teams, and ecosystem partners through credibility and insight.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct structured research on market dynamics, regulatory trends, competitive positioning, and emerging cybersecurity challenges across priority geographies and sectors.
- Monitor threat developments, sector-specific vulnerabilities, and ecosystem shifts to inform strategic recommendations.
- Synthesise findings into concise intelligence reports and briefings for leadership, product, and sales teams.
- Contribute to the identification of market entry opportunities and sector expansion priorities.
Product–Market Fit Support
- Work closely with product management and engineering teams to validate real-world demand and sector-specific use cases — leveraging your technical background to stress-test product assumptions.
- Feed insights from client interactions and market research into product roadmap discussions and solution bundling decisions.
- Help develop and validate product–market fit hypotheses based on an understanding of operational cybersecurity environments and buyer realities.
- Serve as a bridge between the market and internal product teams, ensuring external realities are reflected in product direction.
Thought Leadership & External Engagement
- Contribute to the development of whitepapers, case studies, and sector narratives that strengthen the firm's positioning as a trusted cybersecurity partner.
- Participate in industry events, technical briefings, and roundtables as you build your external presence and professional network.
- Support partnership discussions with system integrators, government bodies, and strategic allies where relevant.
Required Experience & Profile:
Professional Experience
- Experience in cybersecurity, information security, digital risk, or a related technical domain.
- Practical, hands-on exposure to cybersecurity operations, architecture, consulting, penetration testing, or technology — with a genuine, working understanding of how cyber threats, controls, and solutions operate in practice.
- Some experience or demonstrated interest in client-facing, commercial, or advisory activities — such as solution presentations, technical pre-sales, or stakeholder engagement.
- Exposure to market analysis, competitive intelligence, or strategic research is advantageous but not required.
Core Competencies
- Strong cybersecurity technical foundation — able to credibly discuss and contextualise security architectures, threat landscapes, attack vectors, and risk frameworks.
- Developing commercial instincts, with curiosity about how markets work, how buying decisions are made, and what drives organisational behaviour.
- Clear communicator, able to convey technical concepts accessibly to non-technical audiences in written and verbal formats.
- Analytical and structured thinker, comfortable working with ambiguous or incomplete information and distilling it into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, willing to operate across sales, product, and delivery functions without formal authority.
Personal Attributes
- Intellectually curious and proactive — takes initiative and seeks to understand context beyond the immediate technical problem.
- Eager to grow beyond a purely technical role into a commercially and strategically oriented one.
- Mature, reliable, and accountable, with high integrity in all client and team interactions.
- Globally minded, with interest in international markets and sensitivity to geopolitical and regulatory nuances.
- Comfortable operating across ambiguity and adapting to evolving priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in cybersecurity operations (SOC, IR), penetration testing, security consulting, solution architecture, or pre-sales engineering.
- Familiarity with critical infrastructure sectors — energy, water, transport, finance, or healthcare — is advantageous.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Cybersecurity certifications (e.g. CEH, OSCP, Security+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP) are highly regarded.
- Interest or exposure to business development, strategy, or market analysis is a plus.
