Machine Learning Engineer (12-Month Contract) - Part-Time

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to support the development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and technical teams to transform complex datasets into actionable insights and predictive models.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large and diverse datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
• Develop, train, validate, and optimize machine learning models for predictive and classification use cases.
• Perform data preparation, feature engineering, and model evaluation activities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Design and conduct experiments, hypothesis testing, and statistical analyses to support business objectives.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to prepare and optimize datasets for modelling and analytics.
• Develop data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
• Monitor and maintain machine learning models in production environments to ensure performance and accuracy.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science and machine learning best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
• Good understanding of statistics, predictive analytics, machine learning algorithms, and model validation techniques.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Spark, Databricks, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar data platforms.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), or AI foundation models will be advantageous.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing environments.
