Job Title: HVDC Mechanical Erection Supervisor

Location: Sembawang Admiralty Shipyard, Singapore

Role Overview

The HVDC Mechanical Erection Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all onsite mechanical erection activities for the HVDC converter station. The role ensures heavy equipment is installed, aligned, and assembled safely, accurately, and in accordance with OEM specifications, project requirements, and mechanical completion schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation of mechanical equipment, including converter transformers, reactors, cooling system piping, valve support structures, and gantry steelwork.
• Oversee the alignment, leveling, anchoring, and assembly of heavy equipment to ensure compliance with engineering tolerances and specifications.
• Lead heavy lifting and rigging operations by reviewing lifting plans and ensuring safe execution.
• Conduct mechanical quality inspections to verify installations meet IFC drawings, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Supervise subcontractors and coordinate manpower, tools, and resources to maintain installation progress.
• Work closely with electrical supervisors to ensure mechanical support systems are installed correctly for subsequent electrical works.
• Maintain installation records, as-built documentation, torque verification checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Ensure all mechanical erection activities comply with site safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the installation of heavy industrial or power infrastructure equipment.
• Experience on HVDC or high-voltage substation projects is highly preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and civil layout drawings.
• Experience using heavy installation equipment such as hydraulic jacks, torque tools, laser alignment tools, and lifting/rigging equipment.
• Proven experience supervising subcontractors and managing site installation activities.
• Relevant safety certifications (e.g., WSH Supervisor, SSSC) and heavy lifting training are advantageous.
• Able to work in outdoor construction site environments.

Contract Duration: 1 year (Extendable)
Working Hours: 6 days/week, 9 hours/day (including break). Monday - Saturday
