Ops-Tech System Engineer (Checkpoint Operations) - Part-Time

Job Scope

• Deployed to HQ and stationed on-site with operation units to provide immediate technical expertise support.

• Oversee all systems in ICA land checkpoints, including ICT, non-ICT, B&I (Biometrics & Identification), and platform systems.

• Provide support to bridge the gap between technology deployment and real-world operational needs.

• Manage the entire lifecycle of “Ops-Tech” systems from initial scope to deployment and maintenance at the frontline.

• Serve as the primary point-of-contact for ICA on operations, project management, and governance matters to ensure seamless system integration.

• Oversee the installation, testing, and integration of new technologies into existing infrastructure.

• Track asset management (from deployment to disposal), manage contracts/licenses, and ensure vendors meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Ensure systems adhere to prevailing policies and Instruction Manual standards. Work with auditors and manage incident reporting and root cause investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical), Computer Science, or Information Technology.

• Engineer – 0-3 years of relevant experience in engineering, IT, or related fields.

• Lead Engineer – 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering, IT, or related fields.

• Track record in medium to large-scale system deployment and management.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in operations management, project management, or systems sustainment, preferably within a 24/7 operational environment.

• Strong knowledge in IoT sensors, network and system integration, ICT infrastructure construction, or system administration.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently without close supervision.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work with internal and external parties.

Contract duration:

• From Jul 2026 to Mar 2027 (9 months).
• With option to extend from Apr 2027 to Jun 2027 (3 months), depending on job requirement.

Working hours:

• Morning Shift: 10:00am – 10:00pm (report at least 30 mins earlier)
• Night Shift: 10:00pm – 10:00am (report at least 30 mins earlier)

(12-Hour shift pattern with 7x Day + 7x Night shifts per 28 Days Cycle, inclusive of weekends and public holidays)
