This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and works within the Operations organization to learn to research, develop, and apply new manufacturing technologies and processes in the manufacturing plants to advance their capabilities and productivity. He/she will learn to lead and/or participate in activities to research, develop, implement and maintain methods and processes used in the manufacture of product for all RA manufacturing plants. The Process Engineer will actively work in both the central office and local plant environment and have exposure to collaborate with Design and New Product Producibility engineers and Manufacturing Engineers to achieve optimum product design for manufacturability, learn to define and lead projects to improve process, safety, quality, delivery and productivity performance at the manufacturing plants, develop and maintain process design and control. Hands-on experience on issues of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires review of relevant factors. Learn to exercise judgement within defined procedures to determine appropriate action.
Learning Outcomes:
• Develop, standardize, implement, maintain, and govern manufacturing processes across all Rockwell Automation manufacturing plants.
• Provide recommendations, requirements, and justifications to support investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
• Assist with the implementation of IT security and business productivity initiatives in the manufacturing plants.
• Provide design input and execution support for the development and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and information management systems in the plants.
• Exposure to participate in new product and process design reviews for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuation Engineering projects.
• Exposure to participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) analyses for their specific manufacturing technology, process, and methodology.
• Exposure to participate in projects that relates to plant's annual productivity goals, reduce/eliminate safety and ergonomic risk in the manufacturing work environment.
• Support justification for capital requests.
• Identify assembly equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements. Exposure to participate in the procurement, installation and validation activities.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, to a broad audience of varying technical and cultural backgrounds.
• Have an active presence and level of participation in both the central office and the local plant environments.
• Collaborate with others from within and outside of the Operations group to achieve common objectives.
• Hands-on conducting tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or education.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Fresh Graduate are welcome to apply.
