Production Project Technician (2 Years Contract) - Part-Time

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The successful candidate is primarily responsible for administration of the Permit to Work including coordination of permits, ensuring PTW are up-to-date and permits are accurately endorsed and used as well as conducting weekly audit of the PTW system especially for Projects brownfield work. 
He / She will be involved in works pertaining to PTW / SIMOPs to ensure no conflict of work between terminal operations and brownfield projects permits. 
He / She will ensure coordination between TPD and Production throughout the project phase up until system handover.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties:

1.1.    Report on PTW/SIMOPS issues to the Production Manager.  
1.2.    Ensure that the appropriate Risk Assessment process for brownfield permits are in place and being implemented.
1.3.    The focal point for administration and co-ordination of all brown field permits, including those permits that are suspended, but where the work is not complete.
1.4.    Provide a quality check on the completion of permits and certificates prior to issue of brownfield permits and ensuring all the necessary signatures have been obtained and informing the Authorized Applicant & Permit Issuer of any potential conflicts.
1.5.    Report all Accidents/ Incidents and Unsafe Acts/ Conditions in a timely manner.
1.6.    Ensure that PTW updates/changes are effectively communicated to all personnel 
1.7.    Take a lead role in ensuring the SIMOPs (terminal operations and Brownfield project works) for the terminal is not compromised by the issue of conflicting permits
1.8.    Carry out weekly audits of the PTW system especially for brownfield permits
1.9.    Attend work planning and PTW scheduling meetings with Technical & Project Development (TPD) for brownfield works
1.10.    Attend PTW/Risk Assessment meetings with TPD for brownfield works
1.11.    Complete routine site tours to monitor PTW application especially at brownfield area
1.12.    Ensure that the correct permit and/or isolation certificate is used.
1.13.    Ensure that the correct signs, tags and locks are used.
1.14.    Record any lessons learned during the operation of the PTW System
1.15.    Represent Production as Area-in-charge for endorsement and custodian of permit to work / work area especially for brownfield area

2.    Secondary Function:
a)    Support Production with Digital projects site implementation 
b)    Support Production with LEAN projects site implementation

WORK EXPERIENCE
1.    5 years experience in process industries &  Terminal
2.    Good communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
3.    Well versed with Permit to Work system and Risk Assessment. 
4.    Experience in commissioning activities. 
5.    Able to commit to overtime to meet project schedule
6.    Able to commit to weekends per project schedule

EDUCATION 
NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
