Job Description - QA/QC Site Representative - Part-Time
We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading engineering and construction company serving the offshore, marine, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
The QA/QC Site Representative will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all quality assurance and quality control activities at project sites to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. The role requires extensive experience in welding inspection, NDT, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and quality surveillance within offshore, marine, oil & gas, renewable energy, and heavy engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
Site Quality Oversight
Act as the client's on-site representative for all QA/QC matters.
Monitor construction, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
Conduct site inspections and witness critical inspections and testing activities.
Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with project quality requirements.
Report quality issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Welding & Inspection Activities
Verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and applicable codes and standards.
Review welder qualifications and welding documentation.
Conduct visual inspections and monitor welding activities during fabrication and installation.
Witness mechanical, pressure, hydrostatic, and functional testing activities.
Review and approve inspection records and quality reports.
NDT & Quality Control
Coordinate and witness NDT activities including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Positive Material Identification (PMI).
Review NDT reports and ensure inspections are completed according to project requirements.
Verify material traceability, calibration records, and inspection status.
Monitor punch list close-out and quality documentation completion.
Documentation & Compliance
Review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), quality plans, method statements, and inspection procedures.
Ensure accurate maintenance of quality records, material certificates, test reports, and manufacturing data records.
Prepare site quality reports and provide regular updates to project management and clients.
Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with clients, engineering teams, contractors, subcontractors, classification societies, and regulatory authorities.
Attend project progress meetings and quality review meetings.
Facilitate resolution of quality-related issues through effective communication and coordination.
Support project teams in achieving quality, safety, and schedule objectives.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant QA/QC, welding inspection, NDT, or construction quality experience.
Experience in offshore wind, offshore oil & gas, marine construction, shipbuilding, EPC/EPCI projects, or heavy fabrication environments.
Strong experience representing clients, owners, or contractors on project sites.
Certifications
CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification or equivalent.
PCN Level II and/or ASNT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
MT/PT Level II certification.
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification will be an advantage.
