RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position is for Centre for Research on Intelligent Software Engineering (RISE).
• Survey existing approaches on guaranteeing the safety of AI agents.
• Propose new approaches that allow us to improve agent safety effectively and efficiently.
• Implement and experiment with the proposed approaches.
• Evaluate the proposed approach on real-world AI agents.
• Refine the design and implementation of the proposed approach.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines with particular focus on AI safety.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant research experience in AI safety.
• Proficiency in programming software/languages such as Python will be positively considered/ is required.
• Proven track record and professional experience in AI safety.
• Demonstrated experience and know-how on AI agents.
• Excellent working knowledge of AI safety analysis.
• Technical skills in formal methods
• Ability to break down complex problems and design effective solutions.
• Innovating new approaches and thinking outside the box.
• Applicants with research publications in AI safety area will be advantageous.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a small, agile academic research team is essential.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with team members.
