Structural Engineer - Part-Time

For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer to serve as a Client Representative in this role.

The Role: Client Representative — Onsite Supervision & QA/QC

As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Senior/Lead Structural Engineer. Your mission is to provide day-to-day field oversight of the shipyard's structural fabrication work, ensuring it is executed safely, to specification, and on schedule.

• Conduct day-to-day field engineering, structural inspection, and progress tracking.
• Monitor daily yard fabrication progress, fit-up inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT) reports, and structural punch-list closeouts.
• Conduct visual welding inspections, verify that contractor operations closely match approved "as-built" structural drawings.
• Report field progress and any technical concerns directly to the Senior/Lead Structural Engineer.
• Enforce contractor adherence to the exact structural specifications, material grades, and tolerances laid out in the project contract.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Ocean/Naval Engineering.
• Working knowledge of offshore drilling structures (derrick substructures, cantilever designs, deck reinforcements, jack-up leg/hull interfaces).
• Familiarity with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) guidelines for shipyards.
• Minimum 4–7 years of experience in offshore/marine construction or fabrication.
• PMT / Client Representative experience preferred but not essential.
• Excellent command and with the assertiveness to hold contractors accountable on behalf of the client.
