WSHO (6 Months Contract/ Research/ West) - Part-Time

Responsibilities

·      Adhere to WSH regulations and standards in Singapore.

·      Assist in implementing the risk management plans and conducting risk assessments of the work activities in the workplace.

·      Attend to safety incidents and accidents, provide assistance to any injured personnel.

·      Assist in incidents investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

·      Conduct safety inspections and evaluate non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices to identify WSH performance gaps.

·      Conduct safety inductions, training and drills (e.g. chemical spills, fire evacuation).

·      Assist in promoting a culture of safety & health through engagement with researchers and lab users.

·      Assist in preparing emergency preparedness and response plans and communicate plans to stakeholders.

·      Assist in the evacuation of building personnel during emergencies and drills; and provide on-site emergency response coordination if required.

·      Assist the secretariat and facilitate the operations of the WSH committee.

·      Vet through all permit-to-work submissions to ensure accuracy of information, completeness of documentation and compliance to the WSH Act, subsidiary legislation and codes of practice. Verify that contractor risk assessments comply with the Code of Practice on WSH Risk Management and capture the actual activities to be performed on site. 

·      Provide regular updates to site Safety Officers and communicate with site Safety Officers to gain alignment on decisions made where necessary.

Requirements

·      Safety coordinator: WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B)

·      Safety officer: Valid WSHO licence, registered Fire Safety Manager with SCDF will have an added advantage.

·      Possess 2-3 years’ experience in fulfilling the duties in the job description
