WSHO (Research/ 6 Months Contract/ West) - Part-Time

Responsibilities

·               Adhere to WSH regulations andstandards in Singapore.

·               Coordinate with site teams and contractors to ensure compliance with safety requirements where necessary.

·               Vetthrough all permit-to-work submissions to ensure accuracy of information,completeness of documentation and compliance to the WSH Act, subsidiarylegislation and codes of practice. Verify that contractor risk assessmentscomply with the Code of Practice on WSH Risk Management and capture the actualactivities to be performed on site. 

·               Performdaily inspections of work areas to spot safety non-conformities and unsafeconditions/practices, document them and direct them to the relevantperson-in-charge for closure. To follow up on the status of each finding toensure timely and effective closure.

·               Conductspot checks on contractor work areas to ensure they possess valid permits towork (including work at height and hot work permits) and ensure no incompatibleworks are carried out in those work areas.

·               Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings when required, to reinforce safe work practices among employees and contractors.

·               Ensurerelevant documentation and records are properly maintained.

·               Duringmoving/relocation and lifting operations, ensure that move paths and work areasare clear of obstructions and other traffic. Ensure no incompatible works arecarried out by any party in the vicinity of the moving/relocation/liftingworks.

·               Bereadily on-site during hazardous work activities such as lifting operations /confined space entry / etc, to monitor and provide supervision if necessary.

·               Attendto safety incidents and accidents, provide assistance to any injured personnel,conduct preliminary incident investigation and escalate incidents accordingly.

·               Assistin the evacuation of building personnel during emergencies and drills; andprovide on-site emergency response coordination if required.

·               Provideregular updates to site Safety Officers and communicate with site SafetyOfficers to gain alignment on decisions made where necessary.

Requirements

·               Safetycoordinator: WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B)

·               Safetyofficer: Valid WSHO licence

·               Possess2-3 years’ experience in fulfilling the duties in the job description

·               Ableto work on shifts (not exceeding midnight) if needed
