Project Engineer - Part-Time

Seeking Project Engineer

This function will be the focal point between sales and operation. The role will need to work closely with the sales, project management, engineering, and operation team to ensure all orders are executed well and delivered on time. Yet at the same time keep close communication with clients on all matters post purchase orders received

Responsibilities – Project Management

· Study and review contracts and list out all commercial and technical requirements of PO, not limiting to Liquidated Damage (LD) clauses.

· Identify and communicate project objectives in accordance with the contract terms, scope of work, payment schedule to team members and responsible sales person.

· Plan, monitor and manage the project schedule to ensure project completion according to schedule. Use Microsoft tool to plan project activities per our quoted original delivery date and update schedule to reflect actual vs original plan timeline (to capture changes or delay that impact delivery).

· Responsible for project co-ordination/management (from order, kick-off meeting to shipment) taking the lead role.

· Plan, Monitor and Co-ordinate with other disciplines, engineers, drafters, QA for efficient project execution to meet committed deliveries to customers on a timely manner to avoid claims and LD charges.

· Work closely with the sales, QA and E&I Engineering Planning/Purchasing, Production, logistics to resolve any order, bill of material and drawing issues.

· Ensure all documentation (MDR, VDR, VDB, Product specs, certification and ‘as built drawings” are updated to send to the customers in order to fulfill the contract requirements for payment (90%:10%).

· Interact actively and provide support to customers on all technical fronts, project documentation requirements, maintain close liaison with them for timely approval of drawings and provide periodic updates on projects progress.

· Maintain all project records and documentation according to in-house quality standards.

· Keep track of variation order to ensure margins are not eroded.

· Work closely with the sales, logistics and production to resolve any order, bill of material and drawing issues.

· Other assignments may be assigned from time-to-time.

Responsibilities – Planning

· Interface with various parties, internal and external departments, suppliers so as to manage the entire order flow to meet committed / on-time deliveries.

· Analyse demand, order placement, out-sourcing of assemblies and execute operations involving capacity planning, material supply planning and control for production.

· Review inventory stock, productive materials demand, monitor MSL level based on the historical turns and rolling order forecast.

· Working with Buyer to establish and recommend stocking of materials, components (negotiate with suppliers return policy of common/uncommon parts) to minimize stocks write off.

· Maintain inventory including determine of slow moving and obsolete parts and work with sales department to ensure materials and supply levels are properly maintained.

· Work closely with customer service to facilitate smooth billing process i.e. accurate advance packing list, timely arrangement of outbound freight, etc.

· Administer and implement a sound capacity and production planning tool.

· Manage resources and direct production activities to meet monthly output.

Requirements

• Min Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-8 years’ relevant experience in project work and familiar with Energy Industry standards
• Proficient in project scheduling/management & project management tools
• Able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
