Barista/Service Crew - South Side Keppel - Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY

South Side Keppel is a relaxed neighbourhood brunch café by day and a woodfire dining spot by night. We're looking for a versatile, guest-first team member who can move between the coffee bar and the floor — crafting our Ice White Coffee and Matcha, and delivering the warm, unhurried hospitality our guests (and their pets) know us for across brunch and woodfire dinner service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Barista Duties

• Prepare and serve espresso-based coffee, matcha, and specialty beverages to South Side's recipe and presentation standards

• Operate, calibrate, and clean espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment daily

• Manage milk texturing, latte art, and consistency of every cup served

• Monitor coffee, matcha, and beverage ingredient stock; flag and request timely replenishment

• Maintain a clean, organised bar station in line with SFA food hygiene requirements

Service Crew Duties

• Greet, seat, and attend to guests throughout brunch and woodfire dinner service

• Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen/bar via POS

• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation and quality standards

• Set up, reset, and clear tables, and maintain cleanliness of dining and alfresco (pet-friendly) areas

• Process bill payments and handle cash/card transactions accurately

• Support opening and closing side-work duties as assigned

• Uphold food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards at all times

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior barista and/or F&B service experience preferred; enthusiastic entry-level candidates and first-jobbers welcome, with on-the-job training provided

• Genuine interest in specialty coffee and guest hospitality

• Able to commit to rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays

• Holds (or willing to obtain) a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate as required by SFA

• Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong attention to detail

• Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods during service

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, pet-friendly café environment
