Kitchen Assistant - Part-Time

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, food preparation, basic cooking support, cleaning, and general kitchen duties.

The successful candidate will assist the kitchen team in preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, supporting service operations, and ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards are followed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, and packing ingredients.
• Support chefs and cooks during daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare ingredients according to instructions and standard procedures.
• Assist with simple cooking tasks where required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Wash and clean kitchen tools, utensils, trays, containers, and equipment.
• Ensure ingredients are stored properly and labelled correctly.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and arranging kitchen supplies.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
• Support stock rotation using FIFO where applicable.
• Carry out other kitchen duties assigned by the supervisor or chef.

Requirements

• Prior kitchen, F&B, catering, or food preparation experience will be an advantage.
• No experience may be considered for suitable candidates willing to learn.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to stand for long hours and perform physical kitchen duties.
• Responsible, punctual, and willing to be hands-on.
• Able to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Good hygiene habits and basic understanding of food safety.
• Team player with a positive working attitude.
