Residence Chef (Cook) - Part-Time

About the position

The Resident Chef (Cook) is responsible for preparing daily meals for the High Commissioner and her family, ensuring high standards of quality, nutrition, and presentation. This role will also prepare and serve meals for small official events and support catering for functions hosted at the residence.

This is a full-time, 5-day work week position (Monday to Friday). The role offers flexibility in employment arrangements, including the option for a fixed part-time schedule. Accommodation may be provided within the residence (9 White House Park), or the chef may choose to stay out.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, professional, and experienced in preparing high-quality meals for a range of occasions in a private residential setting.

Key responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Design and plan daily/weekly menus (Fusion of western and Asian cuisines) based on employer & client preferences, dietary requirements, and special events

• Create balanced, nutritious, and appealing meals (Adapt menus for allergies, cultural preferences, or lifestyle needs)

• Manage kitchen inventory, stock levels, and minimize food waste

• Plan and execute menus for private parties, family gatherings, or special events

• Coordinate plating, timing, and service standards

• Work closely and collaborate with household staff or external vendors when needed

• Align meal schedules with household routines and events

• To budget and acquit expenditure on family meals regularly

Required Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge/Skills

• Qualifications in a relevant field (preferably)

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to manage end-to-end kitchen operations independently

• Experience catering for private events or small gatherings

• Experience working in a private residence or household environment (preferably)

• Fluency in English is essential.
