Job Description - SERVICE CREW - Part-Time

The Service Crew is responsible for delivering warm, efficient, and attentive customer service while ensuring a clean, organised, and welcoming dining environment. This role supports daily operations by greeting guests, taking orders accurately, serving food and beverages promptly, maintaining cleanliness, and providing an enjoyable dining experience that encourages repeat visits.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Customer Service

Welcome and greet customers with a friendly and professional attitude.

Escort guests to their tables when required.

Present menus and explain signature dishes, promotions, and recommendations.

Answer customers' questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.

Provide prompt, courteous, and attentive service throughout the dining experience.

Build positive relationships with customers and encourage repeat patronage.


2. Order Taking & POS Operations

  • Accurately take customers' food and beverage orders.
  • Enter orders into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system correctly.
  • Confirm special requests, dietary requirements, and cooking preferences.
  • Process cash, credit card, QR code, and digital payment transactions accurately.
  • Issue receipts and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.

3. Food & Beverage Service

  • Serve food and beverages promptly according to company service standards.
  • Ensure dishes are delivered to the correct table.
  • Introduce signature dishes when serving where appropriate.
  • Monitor tables during meals and attend promptly to customer requests.
  • Clear used plates and utensils efficiently without disrupting guests.
  • Refill beverages, sauces, and condiments when necessary.

4. Dining Area Maintenance

  • Set up dining tables before service.
  • Ensure tables are clean, properly arranged, and ready for guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area throughout service.
  • Reset tables promptly after customers leave.
  • Keep service stations stocked with cutlery, napkins, sauces, and takeaway supplies.

5. Teamwork & Communication

  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery.
  • Communicate special customer requests clearly to the kitchen.
  • Support fellow team members during busy service periods.
  • Participate in daily briefings and shift handovers.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors and managers.

6. Hygiene & Safety

Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.

  • Follow Singapore Food Agency (SFA) food hygiene requirements.
  • Ensure cleanliness of service equipment and dining areas.
  • Practise safe food handling procedures.
  • Report hazards, spillages, or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies.
  • 7. Restaurant Operations Support

    • Assist in opening and closing duties.
    • Prepare takeaway orders accurately.
    • Pack food according to company standards.
    • Assist with stock replenishment of beverages, condiments, disposable items, and service supplies.
    • Support restaurant promotions and marketing activities when required.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Experience

    • Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or food and beverage environment is preferred.
    • Fresh candidates with a positive attitude and willingness to learn are welcome to apply.

    Skills

    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Friendly, approachable, and service-oriented personality.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic numerical skills for handling payments.
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to learn menu knowledge and restaurant procedures.
