Associate Consultant
Overview
Responsible for patient care and providing leadership to all levels of staff, including teaching, training and research.
Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:
Associate Consultants are required to carry out their duties as directed by the Head of Department in accordance with the policies and guidelines set by the Hospital, Alexandra Hospital (AH) and the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Besides being responsible for patient care, Associate Consultants are expected to provide leadership to all levels of staff, including teaching, training and research.
Where serious or major clinical situations occur which would affect the well-being or lives of the patients, the Head of Department should be informed and consulted at the earliest opportunity.
Associate Consultants should demonstrate good technical skills including operative and procedural skills.
Associate Consultants should demonstrate their sub-specialty skills and attract referrals in their sub-specialty areas.
Associate Consultants are required to demonstrate expert knowledge in area of specialty and expertise in managing complex medical problems and complications.
Associate Consultants should look to improve standards of clinical practice in his area of specialty and introduce new treatments and procedures.
Associate Consultants should establish the scope of human subject research activities in his/her area of technical expertise and collaborate with cross-disciplinary clinical or scientific partners where appropriate.
Associate Consultants must ensure their commitment to the conduct of research ethics and manage any conflict of interest.
Associate Consultants should be prepared to perform the duties of the next lower grade if necessary.
Requirements
Education, Training and Experience
‒ Specialist who have completed basic and advanced specialist training.
Professional License
‒ Must be registered with the Singapore Medical Council and must be accredited as Specialist by the Specialist Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health.
