Locum Occupational Therapist (Part-Time)

Scope and Types of Service

Direct Services

• Initial Assessment upon admission to Home, assessment and treatment of elderly clients with Dementia, Stroke, Fractures and other neurological and orthopedic conditions.

• Tailored treatment programme for each individual client.

• Treatment and consultation services for all clients.

• Recommendations for adaptive equipment for enhancement of functions.

• Small group activities with involvement of volunteers.

• Recommendation & Fabrication of splints.

• Wheelchair prescription and modifications.

• Assistive devices – prescription and modification.

Consultation

• Referrals to other professionals.

• Multidisciplinary collaboration with other professionals pertaining to treatment.

Training

• Regular on-job-training for therapy assistants and staff.

• Talks and in-service training for all staff on therapy issues.

• Talks for Volunteers.

• Training of volunteers for assisting therapy aides in implementing treatment.

Others

• Outings for clients.

• Maintaining regular reports and records.

• Consultation on setting up and planning & supervising therapy programs.

Requirements/Qualification

• Degree in Occupational Therapy

• Holds valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. For individuals exempted from BCLS, a medical exemption memo, and valid BCLS (Theory) certification are required.

• Holds valid full/ conditional registration occupational therapist practising certificate from the Allied Health Professionals Council.

Salary range: $65 - $70 per hour
