Legal Counsel (Contract), Banking - Part-Time

Our client is a regional financial institution and they are currently looking to hire a legal counsel on short term contract for the legal team. This is role will focus on providing legal advice on the bank's financing transaction.

Responsibilities

As a member within the team, you will be supporting the front office on the negotiations with clients on corporate banking related transactions (e.g. credit facilities/trade financing etc) and private banking related matters. You shall be solution oriented and ensure that clients’ needs are well managed both internally and externally and ensuring that any legal risks are being highlighted promptly to parties involved.

As part of the broader legal team, you will also from time to time be involve in adhoc projects/initiatives that help to drive better legal efficiency within the organization. You will up keep the legal documentations for the transactions handled to ensure that they are align with the bank’s standards and also with market’s best practices.

Requirements

You should bring along with you some form of banking or financing experience either gained in a law firm or a private practice role. You should ideally be a common law qualified lawyer with 3 years PQE and have the ability to see through transactions independently.
