Development Technician (Up To Senior Technician) - Part-Time

Job Summary

As a Development Technician at HOYA Electronics, you will support engineering activities to ensure product quality during manufacturing by troubleshooting, conducting experiments, compiling data, and collaborating across teams in a dynamic cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development engineers and technicians to ensure timely and successful introduction of new products
• Monitor product performance to maintain compliance with internal specifications and development engineer requirements
• Perform process tuning and adjustments to meet defined specifications
• Troubleshoot process and defect issues during pilot runs to minimize disruptions and maintain smooth operations
• Compile and deliver optical and defect performance data from pilot runs for engineering analysis and improvement
• Execute tasks according to development guidelines during maintenance, start-up, and pilot run stages
• Provide basic training and guidance to new technicians on processes and operational standards
• Update daily work status and adapt to changing priorities to support team objectives

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Technology
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a semiconductor cleanroom environment
• Basic proficiency in MS Office applications

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Strong communication skills to report and collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new cleaning machine technologies and procedures
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (4 days work/3 days rest/3 days work/4 days rest)
• Proactive team player attitude
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment
• Willingness to perform overtime when necessary

• This is a 2-year contract position based at Singapore Headquarters
• On-site work is required
