Freelance Social Media Content Assistant (Ad-Hoc / Hourly) - Part-Time

About the Role

We're looking for a Freelance Social Media Content Assistant to help capture engaging short-form videos for social media platforms such as Instagram Reels and TikTok.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys content creation, has a good eye for framing and storytelling, and understands how short-form social media content works. You won't be expected to come up with content ideas or edit videos—we'll provide the creative direction. Your role is to help bring those ideas to life by capturing high-quality footage using your smartphone.

This is an ad-hoc freelance position, with approximately 10 hours per month (around 5 hours every two weeks), depending on filming needs.

Responsibilities

• Film short-form social media content using your smartphone.
• Follow creative direction during filming and help execute content ideas.
• Suggest camera angles, framing and shots to enhance the final video.
• Identify distractions such as cluttered backgrounds, poor lighting or awkward compositions, and proactively recommend improvements before filming.
• Help position people within the frame to achieve the desired shot.
• Capture multiple takes where necessary to ensure sufficient footage for editing.
• Organise raw footage into clearly labelled folders (e.g. by scene or best takes) after each filming session, making it easy for our editor to work with.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who:

• Has some experience filming TikTok, Instagram Reels or other short-form content.
• Is familiar with what makes engaging social media videos.
• Has a good eye for composition, framing and visual storytelling.
• Is responsive to instructions while also being confident enough to suggest improvements.
• Is proactive, organised and punctual.
• Owns a smartphone capable of capturing high-quality video.
• Is comfortable filming at various locations around Singapore

Bonus Points

The following are advantageous but not essential:

• Film, media or communications student.
• Experience creating content for brands or businesses.
• Familiarity with current social media trends and content styles.

Remuneration

• Freelance, ad-hoc engagement.
• Approximately 10 hours per month
• Hourly rate: S$18–28/hour, depending on experience.
• Transport reimbursement for shoots outside the usual filming locations can be discussed.

What Success Looks Like

The ideal person is someone we can rely on to consistently capture quality footage with minimal supervision. They come prepared, understand the intended outcome, proactively recommend better angles or shots, notice distractions before filming, and organise footage so it can be handed over seamlessly for editing.
