Working closely with the Head of Communications, the role contributes to translating scientific and engineering concepts into accessible content, while supporting content pipelines, stakeholder coordination, and operational tasks across multiple schools.

Key Responsibilities:
Scientific Content Development
Research, write, edit, and proofread scientific and technical content, including feature stories, research highlights, faculty profiles, and publications.
Conduct interviews with researchers and subject matter experts to gather insights.
Translate complex scientific concepts into clear, engaging, and reader-friendly content.
Provide scientific and academic input during content reviews.
Content Planning & Stakeholder Management
Support the development and maintenance of the content pipeline and editorial calendar.
Identify and track potential content opportunities.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information, supporting materials, and approvals.
Follow up on content timelines to ensure timely delivery.
Editorial & Publication Support
Prepare content for websites, newsletters, digital platforms, and publications.
Perform proofreading, fact-checking, and editorial refinement.
Support the production of long-form publications such as annual reports and feature articles.
Administrative & Communications Support
Maintain content and digital asset libraries, including photos, videos, and publications.
Assist in website updates and content management.
Support communications reporting, documentation, SOP updates, and workflow improvements.
Provide guidance to interns or student assistants on project-based assignments when required.
Requirements
A background in science, engineering, or research combined with a strong interest in science communication or journalism; OR a background in science communication or journalism with a strong interest in science, engineering, or research; OR a combined background in both area.
