Job Description - Social Media Director - Part-Time

We are inviting candidates for the position of:

Social Media Director

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Social Media Director to lead the strategic direction, growth, and operational excellence of our social media practice. This role is responsible for developing integrated social strategies, strengthening client partnerships, driving innovation, and leading a high-performing team to deliver outstanding business outcomes for global clients.

The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership, commercial acumen, creative excellence, and operational expertise to elevate our social media capabilities while contributing to the continued growth of the agency.

Job Description:

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and lead the agency's social media vision, ensuring capabilities evolve alongside changing consumer behaviours, emerging technologies, and platform developments.
  • Champion social-first thinking across integrated marketing and communications solutions.
  • Drive innovation and establish best practices across social strategy, content, community management, and performance marketing.
  • Partner with agency leadership to identify opportunities to grow the social practice and strengthen client partnerships.

Client Leadership

  • Act as the senior strategic advisor for key client accounts, developing long-term social media strategies aligned with business and marketing objectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders through strategic consultation and thought leadership.
  • Lead client presentations, strategic workshops, and annual planning sessions.
  • Support new business development through strategic proposals, pitches, and capability presentations.

Social Strategy and Innovation

  • Oversee the development of integrated social media strategies across always-on programmes, campaigns, influencer marketing, paid social, and emerging digital platforms.
  • Translate consumer insights, market trends, and business objectives into effective social media solutions.
  • Drive experimentation with new technologies, AI-enabled workflows, content formats, and platform innovations to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

Content Excellence

  • Provide strategic direction for social content to ensure relevance, creativity, and platform optimisation.
  • Collaborate closely with Creative, Strategy, Media, Production, and Client Services teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Establish governance and quality standards for social content and campaign execution.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of social media strategists, managers, and specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance working environment.
  • Support talent development through coaching, capability building, and succession planning.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous professional development across the team.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the social practice to ensure efficient resource planning, project delivery, and quality assurance.
  • Improve workflows, processes, and ways of working to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery across client portfolios.

Commercial Growth

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client partnerships through strategic recommendations and integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to agency revenue growth through client retention, organic growth, and successful new business acquisition.
  • Support commercial planning, forecasting, and resource management.

Measurement and Performance

  • Establish measurement frameworks that demonstrate the business impact of social media initiatives.
  • Guide teams in leveraging analytics, social listening, and performance insights to optimise campaigns and inform future strategies.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, platform developments, and evolving measurement methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in social media, digital marketing, integrated communications, or related disciplines, including experience leading teams and managing client portfolios across APAC.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing integrated social media strategies that achieve measurable business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting business growth, client retention, and new business development.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using performance data to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience with social media management and analytics platforms such as Meta Ads Manager, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Brandwatch, or equivalent enterprise tools.
  • While not a mandatory requirement, professional proficiency in Korean (spoken and written) would be beneficial, as this role may involve supporting Korean-speaking clients and collaborating with Korean-speaking client teams to facilitate effective communication and project delivery.
